Meet the Team
Mistie Badders
I’ve been working with dogs for about 15 years, and somewhere along the way training turned into something much deeper. I became less interested in getting dogs to “do the thing” and more focused on understanding what was happening inside them—emotionally, mentally, and physically—when things went wrong.
Most of the dogs I work with aren’t the easy ones. They’re reactive, shut down, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or carrying experiences that don’t show up on a behavior checklist. I work with hundreds of dogs every year, and what I’ve learned over time is that behavior almost always makes sense once you slow down and look at the situation from the dog’s perspective.
My approach is very real-world focused. I don’t train for perfect setups because dogs don’t live in perfect environments. They live in homes with kids, visitors, noise, stress, vet visits, grooming appointments, and public spaces. Training has to hold up there—or it doesn’t matter.
I founded Tailored Canine in 2020 because I wanted to create a place where dogs are handled thoughtfully and humans are supported without judgment. In 2024, I added grooming because I saw how often behavior was misunderstood or overlooked during handling, and I wanted dogs to experience consistency, patience, and safety across the board.
I’m a certified behavioral specialist, a mom of two, and someone who genuinely believes dogs are always communicating—we just don’t always know how to listen yet. My goal is to help dogs feel safer in their world and help their people understand them better, so everyone can move forward together.
Megan Wenstrom
I’m one of Tailored Canine’s trainers, and I specialize in working with reactive, sensitive, and big-feeling dogs. I’m known for my calm presence, sharp instincts, and deep understanding of what dogs need in order to feel safe, confident, and successful.
I bring a blend of behavioral knowledge and creative energy to every session—especially when it comes to teaching tricks that build confidence, focus, and fun. I currently lead most of our group classes and private sessions, and I love meeting each dog exactly where they are and helping them grow at their own pace.
Training with me is never one-size-fits-all. Every dog is an individual, and my approach is always thoughtful, tailored, and centered around the dog’s unique needs. My goal is to make training empowering, engaging, and enjoyable for both dogs and their humans—because learning should feel good for everyone involved.
Kylie Smith
Hi, I’m Kylie, the manager here, and I take immense pride in creating an environment where both dogs and their humans feel genuinely cared for from the moment they walk through our doors. I’ve been professionally grooming for 10 years, and in that time I’ve learned that exceptional grooming is about so much more than a haircut—it’s about trust, patience, and understanding each dog as an individual.
As a devoted mom of one and a lifelong animal lover, I bring a calm, compassionate approach to every appointment. I specialize in helping nervous, sensitive, or first-time pups feel safe and confident, while also delivering clean, polished, and fun styles tailored to each dog’s needs and lifestyle. My attention to detail and commitment to gentle handling are at the heart of everything I do.
As manager, I hold our team to a high standard because I believe every client deserves consistency, clear communication, and an experience that feels professional, welcoming, and stress-free. Whether you’re here for routine maintenance or a full transformation, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard, confident, and excited to come back—and for your dog to leave feeling comfortable, happy, and looking their absolute best.
Courtney Hall
Hi, I’m Courtney, a professional groomer with over three years of hands-on experience and a deep passion for providing patient, behavior-based care. I began my grooming journey in 2023, quickly discovering that my calm nature and attention to each dog’s emotional needs were just as important as technical skill.
I focus on creating a relaxing, loving, and low-stress environment where dogs feel safe, understood, and respected. By taking the time to read body language, move at each dog’s pace, and build trust, I’m able to turn grooming into a positive experience—especially for nervous, sensitive, or first-time dogs.
Above all else, I believe grooming should never be rushed or forced. I will always prioritize your dog’s comfort over vanity, ensuring their well-being comes first in every decision I make. My goal is for every dog to leave not only looking great, but feeling calm, confident, and cared for.
I look forward to caring for your dog and providing a grooming experience built on patience, trust, and genuine love—one thoughtful groom at a time.
Bella Burg
Hi! I’m Bella, one of the up-and-coming groomers here at Tailored Canine, with just over a year of hands-on grooming experience. While I’m still early in my grooming journey, my boss often says I excel in behavioral awareness and thoughtful technique in every groom—and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
I’m especially known for my extreme patience with anxious and sensitive dogs. I take the time to read body language, acknowledge stress signals, and move at a pace that feels safe and supportive. I use positive reinforcement and plenty of treats to make each grooming session as rewarding and confidence-building as possible, always prioritizing your dog’s comfort over speed or vanity.
I’m currently working toward my certifications as a Fear Free groomer and behavioral groomer, and I’m deeply passionate about creating a calm, understanding environment where dogs feel seen, respected, and secure. Every groom is thoughtfully tailored to help dogs build trust and leave the salon feeling better than when they arrived.
I can’t wait to meet you and your pup and help make grooming a positive experience you can both feel good about.
