Public Access | February 2nd
Our Public Access Group Class is designed for dogs and handlers ready to take their training beyond the classroom and into the real world. This class focuses on calm, controlled behavior in a variety of public environments—stores, sidewalks, parking lots, and other high-distraction settings where good manners truly matter.
Each session is held in a different location to help dogs learn how to remain focused, neutral, and responsive no matter where they are. We work through real-life scenarios such as navigating crowds, ignoring distractions, settling calmly in public spaces, maintaining loose-leash walking, and practicing appropriate greetings—or polite non-engagement—around people and other dogs.
Handlers will also learn how to confidently advocate for their dog, read stress signals, and manage public situations with clarity and control. This class is ideal for dogs preparing for advanced manners, therapy work, service-dog foundations, or simply becoming reliable, well-behaved companions in everyday life.
At the conclusion of the course, dogs will have the opportunity to test for the Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA) title.
This class bridges the gap between “trained at home” and truly dependable in public—because good behavior should travel with you wherever you go.
